Update: 5 Killed, 12 Injured in West Java Minibus Crash

As a follow-up to my earlier posting this morning, the minivan that skidded off a cliff near a descending section of the Emen Pass (a dormant volcano on West Java), on Friday (October 7), killing five and injuring twelve, had a passenger capacity of TEN, but was actually carrying SEVENTEEN people.

COMMENT: As I have commented frequently in the past, foreign travelers should be very circumspect and should refuse to ride in large-capacity vehicles used for tourists that exceed capacity, are unsafe or are driven by drivers who are impaired, fatigued or poorly-skilled.
