Fortunately, the British Foreign Office has updated its travel advice for Britons visiting coastal areas of Kenya near Somalia, following the kidnapping of two Westerners and the murder of another. It now advises against all but essential travel to coastal areas within 150km (93 miles) of the Somali border.
COMMENT: I concur fully with the Foreign Office's update. For further details, please review my earlier postings. Hopefully, the French and other governments will at least mirror the British travel alert so as not to render the nationals of other governments to be vulnerable if their travel warnings for the Kenyan-Somalian border area are less conservative.
