Five Assailants Convicted in Cape Town Home Invasions, Rape of German Tourist

The Western Cape High Court will hear presentencing arguments on Tuesday (December 6) in the case against five assailants who robbed houses in the upscale Cape Town suburb of Camps Bay and assaulted their owners, including a German tourist who was raped. The defendants, Luis Momadi, Arnaldo Faife, Rogerio Laice, Sabastine Okele, and Thamsanqa Mafuya were all convicted last week.

COMMENT: Camps Bay is renowned for its white sandy beaches fringed by palm trees and trendy nightlife. Unfortunately, numerous European tourists have been raped in the Cape Town area in recent years, making it essential for tourists to stay in well-secured accommodations and avoid walking alone at night.
