Canadian PhD Student Found Murdered in Mexico

According to CBS News, Ximena Osegueda, 39, a Mexican-born Canadian, who was working on her PhD in Hispanic studies at the University of British Columbia, while living in Huatulco with her partner, Alejandro Alvarado, were both found dead last week. Their cause of death was by strangling and stabbing.

COMMENT: According to THE WINNIPEG FREE PRESS, local police have suggested that the motive for both deaths may have been robbery, as a vehicle possibly belonging to the couple was found in Oaxaca City, 410 kilometers (255 miles) north of Huatulco.
