US Passenger Falls from One Deck to Another Aboard a Carnival Cruise-Ship, Dies

According to Bahamian authorities, a Carnival cruise-ship docked in Nassau on Friday night (January 27) after a US passenger, 26, jumped from one deck to another, resulting in his death. Carnival issued a statement saying the guest apparently fell. They said the ship's visit to Freeport on Saturday (January 28) has been canceled as the investigation continues.

COMMENT: The ship initially departed Charleston, SC on Wednesday (January 25) for a five-day cruise throughout the Bahamas. It is scheduled to return to Charleston on Monday (January 30).

Although we should presume that the victim's fall was accidental until proven otherwise, as cruise-ships get larger and larger, in terms of capacity, density does contribute to accidents and other mishaps.

Unfortunately, another causation of accidents aboard cruise-ships continues to be unchecked passenger intoxication.
