Dutch Tourist Sustains Head Injuries When His Motorbike Collides with Truck in Borneo

According to The Borneo Post, a Dutch tourist, 33, suffered head injuries when a motorbike he was riding on collided with a pick-up truck in Kuching yesterday (January 31). The mishap occurred around 1400 hours.

An ambulance was called to the scene to dispatch the seriously injured Dutch national to Sarawak General Hospital. The five persons riding in the pick-up truck were not injured.

COMMENT: We can only hope that the victim in this case was wearing a helmet and had international medical treatment and evacuation coverage.

Kuching, formerly known as Sarawak, is the capital and most populous city of the East Malaysian state of Sarawak. It is the largest city on the island of Borneo, and the fourth largest city in Malaysia.
