For the benefit of our readers, http://www.livingsocial.com, based on a on-line survey of some 5,600 respondents (4,000 in the US and an additional 1,600 in Australia, Canada, Ireland and the UK), has classified Americans as the world's worst travelers, followed by China, France, Japan and Russia.
Interestingly, most of the respondents were US citizens.

COMMENT: The survey, conducted in February 2012, was conducted by Mandela Research.
Although the survey revealed that Americans are generally well-traveled, that does not necessarily mean that they all represent the US particularly well.
What I personally found interesting is that only 15% of Americans actually have passports.
Noteworthy surveys results include:
16% of respondents admitted to missing a flight or a connection
11% of respondents had an injury, illness or medical emergency
05% of respondents got pick-pocketed or robbed
21% of respondents lost luggage
