Tragically, a 12-year-year boy from Chula Vista, CA, darted from his family's vehicle on Sunday (June 3) near a scenic cliff area along Honomanu Bay, when he fell some 300 feet to the ocean.
The cliff area was not designated as a scenic road stop, yet it should have been marked as an unsafe area and cordoned off with warning barriers.
Sadly, the youngster was brought to shore by paramedics, but he could not be resuscitated.
COMMENT: One can only imagine the grief and devastation that the family of this young boy must be experiencing.
Clearly, families everywhere need to educate their children to remain with parents at all times until it is determined that a new area to see and experience is safe for them.
