Ireland: Local Man, 21, Charged with Assault, Robbery in Dublin

Adam Doyle, 21, a resident of Dublin, has been charged with robbery and assault with causing  bodily injury after he beat and robbed an Irish couple and an American tourist in Merrion Square on Tuesday (July 10).

COMMENT: The assailant was refused bail and held over for trial. One of the victims was hit by a crutch while another was punched and sustained a broken nose and fractured jaw.

This incident is a reminder to all travelers that there are no "safe" countries and that unexpected injuries are foreseeable in the world in which we all live today.

This attack is also a reminder for all tourists to subscribe to international medical treatment and evacuation coverage before they leave home, otherwise they may be forced to pay for medical treatment BEFORE it is rendered.
