Lebanon: Saudi Arabia Becomes Fifth Gulf State to Discourage Travel

Saudi Arabia has formally advised its citizens to avoid traveling to Lebanon, particularly in light of increasing security risks following the crisis in Syria. Thus,  Saudi Arabia has becomes the fifth Gulf state to issue such warnings, following in the footsteps of the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain.

COMMENT: In recent months, armed conflicts and casualties have escalated in the northern parts of Lebanon between factions supporting and opposing Syrian President Bashar al Assad.
