Australia: British Tourist, 36, Taxi Driver, 28, Killed in Freak Accident in Perth

A British tourist, 36, within an hour of arriving in Perth from the UK, was killed in a fatal car crash, as was his taxi driver, 28, both of whom had just left the city airport and were on their way to a destination when the taxi was hit broadside by the driver of a stolen SUV at 0200 hours earlier today when the thief ran a stop light.

COMMENT: The stolen Toyota was apparently driving with no beams turned on, which caused pursuing police to disengage from the high-speed chase. As a result, it is believed that the driver of the stolen vehicle escaped.

Tragically, this incident is a reminder that all travelers ensure that they have an active last will and testament, advanced medical directive and letter of instruction in place, as they can never know when their life will suddenly end.

This report will be updated as new information becomes available.
