Australia: Update on British Tourist, 36, Taxi Driver, 28, Killed by Driver of Stolen SUV

As a follow-up to Friday's postings (October 19), the British tourist killed within an hour of arriving in Perth from London, Sean Barrett, 36,  and his taxi driver, Kuldeep Singh, 28,  who died when the driver of a stolen Toyota Land-Cruiser ran a stop light and killed them at roughly 0200 hours.

At the time of the accident, the driver of the SUV was driving without lights so as to avoid a police helicopter that was following him.

COMMENT: Our sympathies and condolences go out to both of the families of the two men and hope they will find peace and comfort at this time of grief.

Mr. Barrett, a doctor of quantum physics who worked worked at Imperial College London, was scheduled to be in Perth for two weeks and was scheduled to speak at the conference attendees on Tuesday (October 23).

The only observation that can be made from this tragedy is that the world is full of selfish and mean-spirited people and we can never know which day will be our last.

Thus, having our personal affairs in order is all that we can do to be ready for that day.
