Honduras: Update on Robbery, Murder of Canadian Tourist, 34

COMMENT:  As a follow-up to my earlier posting this morning, in connection with the robbery and murder of Canadian Tim Vallee, 34, an employee of British Columbia's Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO).

Honduran media is reporting that an arrest has been made in Mr. Vallee's murder. The suspect has been identified as Eon Stuart Carter, 27.

Police reportedly are canvassing Roatán for the second suspect in Wednesday's shooting. Unfortunately, it is common practice for police to make arrests that impact on tourism, although we'll examine very carefully the arrest of a second suspect.

It is fortunate that Tim Vallee was in the company of other persons when he was shot, so hopefully positive IDs can be made as to who the assailants actually were.
