Central America: McAfee Likely to Be Deported Back to Belize

According to The Los Angeles Times, media magnet John McAfee, 67, has been denied political asylum in Guatemala and is expected to be deported back to Belize, where he is wanted for  questioning in the death his neighbor, fellow American expat Gregory Faull, 52.
McAfee was arrested Wednesday night (December 5) on charges of entering Guatemala illegally. No warrant for McAfee's arrest has been issued in Belize, yet he claims that if he is captured by officials there he will be killed.

COMMENT: Of course, there is no apparent evidence to support his claim of Belizean authorities' wanting to kill him.

Sadly, McAfee's notoriety has caused him to be accorded  perks that few foreign arrestees enjoy, including being provided a Macbook Pro with which to continue his blogging, while sucking up further media coverage stemming from his prolific fugitive status.

As a result, Mr. McAfee's conduct has simply lengthened the time it will take to identify the likely suspect in Mr. Faull's murder, which proves to be a disservice to the entire Faull Family.
