Cayman Islands: Update--Canadian Senior, 66, Dies from Muliple Injuries Sustained From Intoxicated Driver

COMMENT: According to Saskatchewan's LEADER POST, Canadian Dan Marce, 66, of Regina, who sustained multiple head injuries and fractures on Friday night (February 8) in the Cayman Islands while holidaying with friends and family, has tragically passed away from his injuries.

Shortly after the accident, Mr. Marce was evacuated to Miami via air ambulance and ultimately to his home in Regina. He tragically passed away on Wednesday (February 13) in the presence of close family and friends.

Our sympathies and condolences go out to his family.

At the time of the "accident," Mr. Marce was hit by a reportedly intoxicated driver, who was subsequently released on bail.

Media reports at the time of the accident did not indicate whether the intoxicated woman who struck Mr. Marce was subjected to a blood alcohol test or a breathalyzer, but if she wasn't, she should have been.

One can only hope that there will be legal consequences for the driver.
