Guam: Update--Suspect in Assault, Robbery, Carjacking of Japanese Tourist Arrested

According to http://www.guampdn.com, Eric Jay Meno, 36, of Merizo was arrested this afternoon in the robbery and carjacking of a Japanese tourist on Tuesday night (October 1), as a result of a A Guam Police Department officer spotting the stolen rental vehicle and apprehending the assailant.

See my posting filed earlier this morning (October 2).

COMMENT: Meno was apprehended after the officer saw the assailant driving the rental vehicle. The officer attempted to pull Meno over, but Meno fled on Cross Island Road, and then south on Route 4 to Merizo when he was finally apprehended.

Meno was booked and confined on charges of robbery, auto theft, eluding police, reckless driving and resisting arrest.

The Guam Police Department and the apprehending officer should both be commended for their diligence to their duties.
