Australia: Update--Three Teenage Boys Charged in Sexual Assault, Robbery of South Korean Tourist, 22

According to The Brisbane Times, three teenage boys have been charged in the sexual assault and robbery of a young South Korean tourist, 22, in Cairns on Sunday (November 3).

The young tourist was walking alone along Lake Street towards Cairns on Sunday when she was punched so hard that she fell to the ground and allegedly sexually attacked and robbed of her mobile phone and passport.

COMMENT: Police say they later found the woman's passport and phone at a house in the Cairns suburb of Earlville.

Two boys, aged 17 and 14, have been charged with one count each of robbery with violence and indecent assault. Another 14-year-old is facing a robbery charge.

The older boy will appear in Cairns Magistrates Court on Monday (November 11), while the younger boys will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.
