Tip of the Day: Consider consulting with http://www.internationalcruisevictims.org

COMMENT: Given the continuing rise of crimes against cruise-ship passengers worldwide, but particularly abroad, I feel it is my obligation to make all of our readers aware of the below link which documents increasing  criminal acts occurring aboard cruise-ships:

http://www.internationalcruisevictims.org

Secondly, I've attached a link to the US Coast Guard website that contains a link to the Cruise Vessel Security and Safety Act of 2010, which I urge all of our readers to review, particularly those that are regular cruisers:

http://www.uscg.mil/hq/cg2/cgis/CruiseVesselAct

The downside of the Cruise Vessel Security and Safety Act of 2010 is that it applies only to those US and foreign cruise-ships who call upon US ports of entry.

I urge all readers to make a photocopy of the Act or better yet, put it on a laptop or tablet so you can review it while aboard a cruise-ship, to determine whether elements of the Act are being complied with.

Come on, the Act is only ten pages long. Give it a look!

A final thought. Sadly, too many cruise-ship lines instinctively go out of their way to downplay or "lawyer-up" re: crimes occurring aboard cruise-ships.
