Venezuela: German Executive Killed During Caracas Hotel Shooting

According to El Universal, Caracas' Eurobuilding Hotel has been closed as a result of two deaths stemming from an armed robbery on Wednesday (June 18).

One of the deaths was a hotel guest, German national as Cristophorns Wihem Deuts Keuter, age unknown, who was exiting an armored vehicle when an exchange of gunfire erupted between the German executive's bodyguards and gunmen.

COMMENT: Some thirty rounds were expended during the exchange.

As I have said in the past, Venezuela's unbridled crime crisis only worsens, even when VIPs are traveling in fully armored vehicles and surrounded by bodyguards.

This report will be updated as new information is received.
