Colombia/Spain: Spain's Hi-Tech Firm, INDRA, Selected to Set Up E-Gov't Services in Tunja

According to The Latin American Tribune, MADRID – the Colombian city of Tunja (population: 181, 407), situated 130 kilometers (80 miles) from the capital of Bogotá, has adopted the e-government platform for smart cities developed by Spanish technology company INDRA, which speeds up online access to public services.

The project includes modernizing the Tunja municipal government via the deployment of Amara, Indra’s e-government solution, providing citizens with online access to their files and with tools to complete formalities and review their status in electronic format, the company said in a statement Thursday.

COMMENT: Initial services available to the public will include a complaints and claims service, account settlement, business incorporation procedures and construction permits, as well as home sales and urban planning certificates.
