Haiti/Canada: Fugitive Arrested in Connection with Haiti Abductions of Two Canadians

According to, the Toronto Police Fugitive Squad has detained a fugitive who fled Haiti and was arrested by Toronto police in connection with a  a 2012 kidnapping case that occurred in Haiti when two Canadians, ages 23 and 22, respectively, were abducted on October 16, 2012.

The armed kidnappers forcibly confined the pair in Bourdon, Haiti, demanding a ransom of US$1 million for their release.

During the police investigation, a man was identified as being one of the individuals who planned the abduction. 

COMMENT: In a news release issued Wednesday last week, Toronto police said that they have arrested the 43-year-old Mississauga fugitive who was involved in the 2012 kidnapping. 

Toronto police have not released any other details on the kidnapping or the victims.
