Nigeria: Abduction of Kaduna Refining, Petrochemical D/Manager Confusing, Details Follow

Deputy Manager of Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company, KRPC, a subsidiary of NNPC, Mukhtar Bashir has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen in his residence.

Information gathered revealed that the sum of 6 million naira (US$36,777.60) ransom had been demanded by the kidnappers.

The abduction occurred on Thursday night (September 11) when Malam Bashir with his children went to perform their Magrib and Ishai prayers at home, off of Ashiru Kudan Road, Kawo area of Kaduna State. 

COMMENT: The kidnappers reportedly drove to the victim's home in two vehicles and awaited his arrival as home.

As the victim and his family arrived at home, the abductors took flight in the victim's Toyota Avensis official vehicle, which fortunately had a modern technology Tracker (GBS) that allows for electronic monitoring of the vehicles location.

State Commissioner of Police Umar Shehu when contacted confirmed the incident;  but denied that it was an actual abduction.

This report will be clarified once there is a better indication of the facts in the matter.
