Spain/Kuwait: Spain's Abengoa Awarded $26 Million Contract in Kuwaiti Capital

According to The Latin American TribuneSpanish energy and construction group Abengoa has been awarded a contract worth $26 million from Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity and Water to develop a new power transmission project in Kuwait City, it was announced Friday (September 19) in Madrid. 

In a statement, Abengoa indicated that the project includes designing, building and operating three new high-tension electricity transmission lines which extend for 86 kilometers (53.4 miles) in Kuwaiti City. 

COMMENT: Abengoa specializes in energy, communications, transportation and environmental-related engineering solutions, is currently working on a 37.5 kilometer (23.3 mile) electrical transmission line for the Kuwait Institute of Scientific Research. 

Currently, Abengoa is involved in projects for laying some 25,000 kilometers (15,500 miles) of power transmission lines globally.
