Tip of the Day: Wear a Cheap Watch--The Only Person You'll Impress is a Criminal!

Today's Tip of the Day is a topic I have voiced numerous times over the years, yet I continue to observe foreign travelers of all nationalities in very large numbers boarding flights all over the world sporting some of the most expensive watches on the Planet: Rolex, Breitling, Chanel, Harry Winston, TagHeuer, etc.

Now, an important thing to remember: Even if you wear a counterfeit watch, AKA "knock-offs," most criminals may not look close enough to see whether the watch you wear is authentic or not.

Question: Do you really want to get shot or die wearing a "knock-off"?

My preference is a cheap Casio athletic watch with a rubber band that I can swim in that has a two time-zone capability.

Now, here's the interesting part:

"I've worn the same Casio for well over 20 years, changing batteries every now and then, and yet, no criminal, in Islamabad, Manila, Rio de Janeiro, Miami, London, Nairobi, Jakarta and scores of other high-risk destinations, have ever held me up for this well-traveled $40 Casio watch."

So please, don't wear a pricey watch or a "knock-off" in...any country.
