México/US: American Girl, 4, Kidnapped by Mother, Returned to Father, Abductor Extradited to US

According to The Latin American Tribune, a US girl, who was kidnapped by her mother at the age of four and taken to México 12 years ago, has been found and returned to the United States, US authorities have announced.

A spokesman for the US Federal Bureau of Investigation said Wednesday that Sabrina Allen, now 17, was discovered living with her mother, Dara Marie Llorens, southeast of Mexico City.

Sabrina was living in 2002 with her father, who had custody of the child following the parents’ divorce.

Llorens said she was taking Sabrina for the weekend, but both disappeared.

COMMENT: Last week in a joint operation, the FBI and Mexican federal agents located mother and daughter, arrested the girl’s mother and returned Sabrina to her father.

The spokesman said mother and daughter’s whereabouts were reported by an informant working for a private investigation agency.

Llorens, 44, was extradited to the United States and turned over to federal authorities.
