Nigeria: Amidst a Cloak of Secrecy, Cease-Fire Has Been Consummated Between Boko Haram, Gov't

According to AFP, Nigeria's presidency and armed forces on Friday (October  17) suddenly claimed to have reached a deal with Boko Haram militants on a cease-fire and the release of more than 200 kidnapped schoolgirls.
COMMENT: The global media presumably seemed to have missed out on some key facts for a cease-fire to have suddenly emerged between the Nigerian government and Jama'atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda'awati wal-Jihad (Boko Haram).
Separately, President Goodluck Jonathan's Principal Secretary Hassan Tukur told AFP that an agreement to end hostilities had been reached following talks, as well as the release of 219 girls held captive since April.
Identifying how this seemingly miraculous sequence events could have occurred can only be described as stunning, bizarre and peculiar.
This report will be updated as new information is revealed.
