Tip of the Day: Never Underestimate the Importance of Dining with Your Foreign Hosts

NEVER underestimate the importance of dining amongst cultures.

Very often key spontaneous, strategic decisions are often made during having meals together when they are least expected.

Become an under-study of dining protocols and never miss a meal with foreign hosts.

Always take small portions, never over-eat, learn to become well-skilled at using eating utensils, always bring small snacks to get you over your grumbling stomach and know when meals with your hosts are served.

If you are going to Asia, learn to use chopsticks and  never decline food. Alternatively, take small portions.

In a Muslim country, realize that alcoholic beverages normally are not served.

Avoid the temptation to drink in your guest-room, as the smell of alcohol on your breath is never a positive trait.

Always thank your hosts for their kind hospitality and remark on how wonderful the meal was.
