Louisiana: Victim, 20, Involved in 2-Vehicle Collision, Raped By Two Men Connected to Accident

A 20-year-old woman was raped after the two men she collided with told her to pull into a nearby car park in the French Quarter in New Orleans.

Police said the woman was involved in a collision near the intersection of Iberville and North Peters Streets at approximately 0630 hours on Sunday (November 30).

The woman was then told to turn into a nearby parking lot, where she told police the men sexually assaulted her inside her vehicle.

A cab driver, who declined to give his name, told 6WDSU News that he saw the woman pull into the parking lot, after which "I don't know what happened."

He said the men, who remain at large, had sideswiped her vehicle at the intersection. The cab driver said the men left the woman after about an hour, but remained in her vehicle.

COMMENT: According to the below link, New Orleans is designated as 10, whereas the safest city is designated 100:

The rape victim should consult with a LA-licensed attorney to determine if she has the basis of either a civil or criminal complaint.

The cab driver recalled how the woman cried as she told of giving the two men money for the damage to their vehicle.

A description of the two men hasn't been released.

The NOPD said it will not release any surveillance video of the area in which the incident had occurred as it could violate the privacy of a sexual assault victim.
